Pickled Eggs

I’ve never made them before but they are supposed to be purple. I used a jar of red beets, so they are orangey red. What beets do you use that make them purple? What are the purple beets called?
my friends gma makes them and the juice is a deep purple, and the eggs a pretty pastel purple. but my juice is red and the eggs are orange

I like them plain with mayonnaise, a little salt & white pepper with, maybe, just a tiny pinch of cayenne. All that other stuff, minced onion, pickle relish, mustard, etc., just hides the flavor of the egg but curious what other cooks use to make their stuffed eggs special.

I was wanting to make pickled eggs, but I don’t have the vinegar or allspice. Do you think I can just use leftover pickle juice from pickles in the jar, and put them in that in the fridge? I think it might work, but I’m not sure.
